Seconds is such an appropriate title for the graphic novel as this book is all about second chances. The protagonist here is Katie who is the head chef of a successful restaurant "SECONDS". Katie has always dreamed about owning her own restaurant and just as shes on the way to do so she comes in contact with Kris, a house spirit. Kris shows Katie a way to wipe away her mistakes with a simple 4 step process:
1. Write your mistake.
2. Ingest one mushroom.
3. Go to sleep.
4. Wake anew
All of a sudden Katie finds herself using it as an ability to make simple, relatively harmless changes fast and easily... it isn't long before Katie's world begins to get messed up and hinders the way her past actual was.The book also explores the idea of making mistakes and Bryan portrays and tells us this is his own unique way. If your looking for a quick, lighthearted and fun read this is definitely it!
